There is an enormous need for NEW SOCKS across charities and shelters in Canada. People think about donating many other items of clothing but often forget about the almighty pair of socks! Socks are vital to keep feet dry, warm and free from disease.

 

WHO WE ARE:

Socks for Hope is a volunteer community, with a mission to support vulnerable people that are experiencing homelessness and hardship in the Southern Georgian Bay community. We are collaborating with the community to gather socks for key organizations that distribute directly to thousands of individuals in need. The inspiration for our campaign is the Socks for Hope   Halton / Hamilton Program.  Launched In 2018, the Halton / Hamilton team has collected tens of thousands of socks for their community.

 

All socks collected in Southern Georgian Bay Campaign will be delivered to organizations within the Southern Georgian Bay Community.

 

WHY SOCKS?

New Socks are one of the most valued articles of clothing but the least donated items at shelters. People think about donating many other items of clothing but often forget about the almighty pair of socks! Socks are vital to keep feet dry, warm and free from disease.

 

RECIPIENT ORGANIZATIONS

This year we will be donating socks for distribution to the following local organizations

• Mobile Soup Kitchen

• Busby Centre Collingwood

• Rodgers Way Home (transitional housing & support for Seniors)

• Home Horizon (transitional housing & support for youth)

• My Friend’s House (transitional housing for women and children experiencing domestic violence)

 

CAMPAIGN TIMING                                                         

From Dec 1 – 18, we will be collecting NEW SOCKS at various locations in the community.

Boxes, signage and support materials will be distributed in November and socks will be distributed in January 2027.

We provide the box and the signage.  We provide promotional materials to help you spread the word (sample emails, sample posts etc).  You collect the socks! We will pick them up and deliver to our charities.
